Wow: Italy dominates BEMER Young Rider Grand Prix

(Lamprechtshausen)  Now that’ s ambition – Italy took the first four places in the BEMER Young Rider Grand Prix at the international event in Lamprechtshausen, Austria. Antonio Sottile, the 20-year-old young Italian squad rider was simply “too fast, too good” in the saddle of the Hanoverian mare Montana in 37.61 clear seconds, even for his young teammates.

The young rider, who is one of the top athletes in the Italian young rider squad, not only won the BEMER Young Rider Grand Prix, but also collected points in the ambitious young rider project of the BEMER Int. AG, which will enable young talents to compete in the classic BEMER Riders Tour from 2023. Antonio already placed fifth in the Young Rider Grand Prix in Gorla Minore, today he added a victory with Montana, which ensures that Sottile, with a total of 31 points, even overtakes the French rider Antoine Ermann, who has so far been in the lead (28 points).

Another step up – Martina Gurriere

And another young Italian took her chance. Martina Gurriere, who is only 19 years old, also collected two placings in Gorla Minore at her ” Home-Bemer Young Rider Grand Prix”, again in Lamprechtshausen and is now in sixth position with 18 points in the internal ranking. This ranking clearly reflects the ambition that the young U21 generation is showing. Behind Sottile follows Antoine Ermann (France), then Lorenzo Correddu, Chiara Coppa (both Italy) and Johanna Beckmann (Germany) share third place ahead of Martina Gurriere.

Also celebrated in Lamprechtshausen were the young Italians Giulia Mattioli/ Daiquiri de Nyze Z, Elisa Chimirri/ Calandro Z and Angelica Marinelli/ Sisko de Falere, who took second to fourth place in the BEMER Young Rider Grand Prix. A total of 24 pairs from five nations took part in the prestigious international competition in Austria.

Anticipation for 2023 is growing

The aim of the BEMER Young Rider Grand Prix is to give good European riders in the U21 age group extended opportunities to compete on the established BEMER Riders Tour platform in the future.
