BEMER Young Riders Tour: Mie Stuhr-Petersen scores her first ranking points in the BEMER Young Riders Tour Grand Prix of Šamorín

(Šamorín) The weather gods were not too kind to the 28 participants who competed today in the fourth rating competition of the BEMER Young Riders Tour in the Horse Shoe Arena of the X-bionic Sphere Equestrian Center. Rain jackets, anoraks and parkas made a new fashion statement in the course designed by Brazilian course designer Leandro Andreoli Balen. However, the Polish riders really fired up in the first round. A total of nine pairs delivered clear rounds and thus qualified for the jump-off, four of them rode for Poland.

Yet the winner’s sash of the BEMER Young Riders Tour Grand Prix went to the 21-year-old Danish rider Mie Stuhr-Petersen. While she did not set the fastest time in the jump-off with her Hanoverian gelding Vincel (by Valentino) — that went to Iga Biegalska (POL) and Doravella, with a time of 40.13 seconds and four penalty points — she did produce the fastest ride out of only three clear rounds. Stuhr-Petersen grew up near Hillerød, Denmark and has been riding since she was five. Vincel was also her partner in one of her biggest successes to date, winning the Young Riders Grand Prix at the Falsterbo Horse Show 2022. Stuhr-Petersen is now part of the group of U21 riders who have been able to earn the maximum number of 20 points by winning a BEMER Young Riders Tour rating competition. This also includes Géraldine Straumann (SUI) and Shirel Schornoz (SUI), who are currently joint fourth in the Tour Ranking.

Consistency is the magic word

However, consistency is the magic word in the international jumping series for the U21 generation. Good performances over several events, motivation and talent — that is what ultimately leads to the title of “Young Rider of the Year”. Marie Christine Sebesta (AUT) came a little closer to this goal today. With the stallion Gaffney she only achieved sixth place in the Grand Prix, but in return she collected 10 points for the Tour Ranking, thus improving her position from 12th to third place with 21 points. Top of the ranking is still Jessica Hewlett from Great Britain with 35 points.

Oliver Fletcher (GBR) on the Casallco daughter Casachessa PS finished second in 44.20 seconds. Natalia Kubik (POL) completed the podium in the saddle of Zine Blue (by Zinedine) in 46.17 seconds. The best and only German in the jump-off was Magdalena Wanninger (Straubing) on Commander, who finished in ninth place with eight faults.
